How It Works

From joining the Village to becoming part of it, we make the process simple.

Choose Your Path

The Author Journey

  1. Step 1 — Join the Village

    Join the Village

Choose Village Author Membership and complete your membership payment. Once your membership is confirmed, we'll send you everything you need to get started.

  2. Step 2 — Tell Us About Yourself & Your Book

    Complete Your Author Profile

You'll receive a simple onboarding form where you can provide your author information, book details, photo, biography, goals, and Meet the Author responses.

  3. Step 3 — We Prepare Your Village Presence

    We Bring It Together

We review your information, prepare your Author Profile and Book Listing, and create your professionally written Village Feature.

  4. Step 4 — Review & Approve

    You Review Before We Publish

You'll receive a preview of your Author Profile and Book Listing to review. You can request edits and approve everything before your profile goes live.

  5. Step 5 — Welcome to the Village

    Your Place in the Village

Once approved, your Author Profile and primary book become part of the Village. Your Village Feature is shared with the wider Village community online and to external media outlets. You can also begin taking part in Village Conversations, connecting with fellow authors, and exploring opportunities.

  6. Step 6 — Stay Connected

    Be Part of the Community

Throughout your membership, discover fellow authors and their books, participate in Village activities, exchange ideas and recommendations, and receive curated opportunities relevant to Jewish-interest authors.

Is this for you?

The Jewish Book Village is for you if…

  • 01

Your book relates to Jewish life and/or Israel.

  • 02

You've been blacklisted or experienced pushback simply because you're Jewish and your book portrays Jewish life and/or Israel favorably.

  • 03

You've tried to publicize your book on your own, and realize it's harder and more time-intensive than it seems.

  • 04

You're not ready to invest in a tailor-made publicity campaign, but you still want exposure.

  • 05

You love to share your reflections on what you've read and would like to support Jewish authors around the world.

  • 06

You want to join a growing community of people.

Contributors

Become a Village Contributor

The Jewish Book Village brings together authors and people who love discovering, discussing, reviewing, recommending, and sharing Jewish books.

Contributors help spread awareness about Jewish books and help create a vibrant community around Jewish authors and their work — discovering books, requesting review copies of participating titles, reviewing and recommending them, joining conversations, and contributing in other ways.

Tell us a little about yourself and how you'd like to participate.

Authors bring the books. Contributors help spread awareness about them to the world.

What approval means

We review every application by hand. If you're approved, you become an Approved Village Contributor and can take part in the Contributor side of the Village.

  • Explore Village books and authors
  • Request review copies of participating books
  • Submit reviews
  • Participate in Village Conversations and activities where appropriate
  • Recommend books
  • Discover opportunities
  • Take part in other Contributor activities

Approval lets you participate — it doesn't guarantee interviews, speaking opportunities, media placements, or any other specific opportunity. Likewise, requesting a book doesn't guarantee it will be provided if there's an administrative reason not to fulfill a request.
